What is Greening Health Care?

Hospitals can substantially reduce energy costs while maintaining or improving patient care. The starting point is knowing where you stand. Some facilities use three times more energy per square foot than others with high users typically able to save hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. Most savings result from operational and maintenance improvements involving little capital expenditure but delivering remarkable results.

Greening Health Care provides the knowledge and resources you need to maximize energy and operating cost savings and raise the environmental performance for your hospital to be a leader in the community:

  • individual benchmarking of energy & water efficiency
  • identification of conservation potential
  • workshops & webinars to review performance and share best practices
  • information and networking with peers and industry experts
  • resources to help define & implement measures
  • online data management & reporting
  • compliance with energy and environmental regulations
  • access to incentives
  • awards & recognition
