The Environmental Volunteer Network (EVN) connects the diverse residents of TRCA's jurisdiction with hands-on volunteer opportunities and education in the field of conservation. The EVN connects environmental organizations and municipal agencies with volunteers who are ready, willing and able.

What the EVN Program Provides

  • Placement of volunteers in meaningful and educational roles within participating environmental organizations throughout the GTA
  • Volunteer referrals to non-profit environmental groups and municipal agencies
  • Opportunity for volunteer movement around various organizations in the environmental community
  • Promotion of events, opportunities and activities for environmental groups
  • Training and education for volunteers and staff interacting with volunteers

What the EVN Program expects from Volunteers

  • Fulfillment of commitments
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Participation in an exit interview to help us evaluate placement
  • Feedback on our programs and suggestions for improvement
  • Respect for the organization you are representing
  • Successful police screening for volunteers age 18 or older
  • Complete attendance at a conservation orientation session (two hours plus readings)
