Erosion Management

Do you have an erosion issue that is impacting your property? If so, TRCA wants to know.

TRCA's Erosion Monitoring Program collects information on areas affected by erosion where public safety may be at risk. Each year new erosion sites are identified to TRCA which are inventoried, assessed, and monitored on an ongoing basis by staff to identify the highest priority sites. Remedial and maintenance work is carried out annually by TRCA to stabilize critical areas affected by erosion, as funding permits.

TRCA can also assist property owners experiencing erosion on or adjacent to their property by monitoring the area of concern, providing information on ways they can reduce further erosion and/or increase stability; and when necessary provide guidance on relevant by-laws and TRCA permits for initiating erosion control works.

Who to Contact Regarding Erosion Concerns

Homeowners concerned about erosion occurring on or adjacent to their property can send an e-mail to erosionmonitoring@trca.on.ca to arrange a site inspection.
