About The Living City Foundation

The Living City Foundation raises money for projects undertaken by Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA).

The Living City Foundation (formally The Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto) raises money for projects undertaken by Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA). Since its founding in April, 1961, the Foundation has raised over $22 million for TRCA's projects.

Toronto and Region Conservation's vision is for The Living City, a new kind of community where human settlement can flourish forever as part of nature's beauty and diversity. Since 1957 TRCA has monitored, protected and regenerated the nine watersheds which flow through the Toronto region into Lake Ontario.

Toronto and Region Conservation's partners are the City of Toronto, the regional municipalities of Durham, Peel and York, the Town of Mono and the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. It serves a population of 4.3 million.

Toronto and Region Conservation is the largest owner of green space in the Toronto region with over 40,000 acres. It owns and operates Black Creek Pioneer Village, the Kortright Centre for Conservation, Tommy Thompson Park, three outdoor education field centres and ten parks and conservation areas.

It also owns other "green gems" like Humber Bay Park, Bluffers Park, the Ajax Waterfront Park and the Don Valley Brick Works. These places, and many others, are maintained by our municipal partners.

These project and facilities would not exist without the support and financial commitments of donors like you.

Please donate and continue our dream of making the Toronto region the most livable city in the world.
