Annual General Meeting Set for April 13th for Partners in Project Green: A Pearson Eco-Business Zone

TORONTO, April 6, 2010 - The achievements of Partners in Project Green in their first year of operation will be announced during the Annual General Meeting with the release of Partners in Project Green's first Annual Report on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Woodbine Entertainment. Initiated in 2008 by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA), Partners in Project Green aims to develop North America's largest eco-business zone on over 12,000 hectares of land, on Canada's largest employment area surrounding Pearson International Airport.  Through new forms of business-to-business collaboration, Partners in Project Green delivers programming that helps businesses reduce energy and resource costs, uncover new business opportunities, and address everyday operational challenges in a green and cost-effective manner.

At the Annual General Meeting learn about the results of the initiative to-date as well as the achievements from partners in the areas of energy, water, transportation and restoration.

The evening will include:

  • A networking/cocktail reception
  • Highlights on leading green companies from the Pearson Eco-Business Zone
  • Launching of the Partners in Project Green and Bullfrog Power Green Power Challenge.
  • Key note address by Kim Warburton, Vice-President Communications/Public Affairs for General Electric.

Where:  Woodbine Entertainment 555 Rexdale Road

Who: Mayor Hazel McCallion, Councillor Maria Augimeri; Councillor Karen Stintz; Toby Lennox, Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Greater Toronto Airports Authority; Brian Denney, Chief Administrative Officer for Toronto and Region Conservation, and businesses from Partners in Project Green.
