North America's Largest Eco-Business Zone Turns Green into Gold

Oct 07, 2009

On October 15th, business leaders will gather to learn how Partners in Project Green leaders have turned sustainability into a business opportunity, at Partner's in Project Green's (PPG) "Turning Green into Gold: An Evening of Sustainability Networking". Initiated in 2008, by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA), Partners in Project Green aims to develop North America's largest eco-business zone on over 12,000 hectares of land surrounding Pearson International Airport.

The Ambassador Network involves joining a community of companies working together to create a world-class eco-business zone, while providing enhanced personalized support and access to business specific greening opportunities.

At the event, PPG will also launch the Clinton Climate Initiative's Purchasing Alliance. This new purchasing group can reduce the cost of energy efficient products by 5 - 45 per cent for companies in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone.  Purchasing Alliance vendors will be in attendance to share their technologies to help get companies on the road to energy savings.

Bob Willard, a leading expert on the business value of corporate sustainability strategies will be speaking at the event. Bob applies business and leadership development experience from his 34-year career at IBM Canada to engage the business community in proactively avoiding risks and capturing opportunities associated with sustainability. He is the author of The Sustainability Advantage, The Next Sustainability Wave and his latest book, The Sustainability Champion's Guidebook.
