Thought Leaders Duke it Out in the Sustainability Ring at Partners and Project GreenÂ’s Annual Networking Reception to Debate on Hot Green Topics

Sep 24, 2013

September 24, 2013

Join Partners in Project Green and members of the GTA's sustainable business network at this exciting networking event - a sustainability Duke Out! Toby Heaps, Corporate Knights and Toby Lennox, Greater Toronto Airports Authority, will be taking their corners on Thursday, September 26, to debate on hot topics that are facing the sustainable business movement. Topics include: Grass: for or against? and Electric Vehicles: here to stay or doomed to fail?

Grass: for or against? Although it covers most of our home lawns and seems trivial to question its existence, grass has been a hot topic in the sustainability and urban development fields. Lawns serve aesthetic value as well as provide a designated area for recreational activities; however, they are a large time and fiscal investment as well as are quite taxing on our environment.

Electric vehicles: Here to stay or doomed to fail? Although electric vehicles (EVs) are noted by experts to be a viable opportunity for resolving our energy crisis and cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions, a large aspect to the debate on the viability of EVs has to do with whether or not the technology is fully developed for today's market.
