Claremont Outdoor Education Centre in Pickering Receives New Federal Support

(Ajax, Pickering, Uxbridge– May 14 2013) – On May 16, Toronto and Region Conservation will launch a campaign to revitalize Claremont Outdoor Education Centre. The celebration begins with an announcement of funding support from the Government of Canada, by Chris Alexander, MP Ajax-Pickering.

Grade 6 students from Walter E Harris Public School in Oshawa and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters will release young salmon into Duffins Creek, showcasing the partnerships and school programming which Claremont has developed over the past 40 years.

Working with various partners, TRCA leads a variety of conservation initiatives, including environmental education, outdoor recreation, habitat restoration and community stewardship.
