Create a Work of Art for Caledon's Annual Rain Barrel Art Collection

(Caledon, March 4) EcoCaledon and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) are excited to announce a Call for Artists to create a work of art for the Paint a Picture for Water Conservation; Caledon's third annual Rain Barrel Art Collection and Water Conservation Education Campaign.  Paint a Picture for Water Conservation partners, hope that the transformation of the rain barrel into a masterpiece for the garden will promote the re-use of rain water.

Artists, students, creative Caledonians and schools are asked to submit ideas for an artistic rain barrel design.  Ten community applicants and ten school applicants will be chosen to be part of the 2013 Artist's Collection.The application deadline for artists is Friday, March 22, 2013. 

The Rain Barrel Art Collection will be displayed at various locations within the Caledon community from May 15th- June 15th.  During this period, these unique rain barrels will be up for auction online.  All money raised from the auction will go to support the environmental education activities and scholarships offered by ecoCaledon.

New this year, is the 30-Day Water Conservation Challenge, where residents, Community Organizations, Town Staff and Council will be challenged to conserve water at home, work and school over a 30-day period and share their water conservation tips.
