Sunny Days Fundraiser Supports Outdoor Education and Accessible Outdoor Recreation in Durham Region

(Ajax, Pickering, Uxbridge-April 19) - On April 25, the Sunny Days for Conservation dinner gala and concert will be hosted by Deer Creek Golf and Banquet Facility and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA). The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be CTV News journalist, Dan Matheson. The event highlight is a performance by the band "Lunch at Allen's", featuring Juno Award-winning Canadian musicians Ian Thomas, Marc Jordan, and Murray McLauchlan, and Juno Award nominee, Cindy Church.


Proceeds from the event will go towards ensuring that students in Durham Region with physical and economic barriers have access to environmental learning programs at Claremont Outdoor Education Centre, and helping to improve accessibility on TRCA conservation lands in Duffins Creek watershed. Projects will be implemented to help people with various physical and mental challenges experience nature first-hand and maintain healthy, active lifestyles.

For a third year, the community has shown great support for Sunny Days for Conservation, demonstrating their understanding of the need to accommodate accessibility in recreation for people of all ages and ability levels in Durham Region.

  • Performance by "Lunch at Allen's" at 8:30 pm
  • Cash bar
  • $200 per ticket
