Mar 07, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(March 7, 2012) The Town of Caledon and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) are pleased to announce a new partnership that will promote green business activity in Caledon through TRCA's Partners in Project Green.

Through this partnership, businesses in the Town of Caledon will have access to a wide range of programs and training opportunities that can help them reduce their costs and identify new business opportunities through sustainability.

"Caledon's corporate community understands the importance of green business," shared Mayor Marolyn Morrison.  "Working with TRCA to make Partners in Project Green available to businesses in Caledon not only means added value for the business community, but bolsters our continued commitment to be Ontario's greenest community."

Partners in Project Green is a public-private partnership managed by TRCA and jointly funded by the Region of Peel and private sector partners to work with businesses on reducing their costs and embracing sustainable business practices.  Through new forms of business to business collaboration, Partners in Project Green delivers programming that helps businesses reduce energy and resource costs, uncover new business opportunities, and address everyday operational challenges in a green and cost effective manner.

"Partners in Project Green is there to help companies understand how they can adopt sustainable business practices, connect them to the resources they need and then walk them through the implementation process," explained Michael McKendry, at Husky Injection Moulding.  "That kind of support is invaluable in moving a sustainability program forward."
