Emery Village and Partners in Project Green Combine Efforts to Assist Businesses

MEDIA RELEASE For Immediate Distribution (TORONTO – October 28, 2011) Partners in Project Green and the Emery Village Business Improvement Area are pleased to announce a new partnership that will leverage the knowledge and resources of each organization to help companies in the Emery Village community realize the business benefits of sustainability. “Our members have been looking for ways to reduce their resource costs and drive new sustainable business opportunities,” Lorraine Chabot-Vecera, Chair of the Emery Village Business Improvement Area. “Working with Partners in Project Green gives our members access to third-party advice and resources to help drive cost reductions and increase productivity.” This partnership will allow businesses in the Emery Village community to utilize Partners in Project Green programming, including their Eco-Efficiency Program and Green Purchasing Alliance, as well as access training workshops, to help reduce their costs. The BIA uses its own money in an ongoing effort to draw more prospective customers to the area by improving the attractiveness of the area and promoting it as a good place to shop, visit and do business. The Emery Village BIA Environmental Committee is specifically dedicated to promoting awareness of incentive programs and initiatives that will help local businesses green their operations.
