About M2P

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), is now recruiting clients for the Mentoring to Placement (M2P) for Environmental Professionals Program.
The M2P Program is an Ontario bridge training program that helps internationally trained professionals to access employment opportunities in their field.

Individuals selected for the program will access:
- Employment counseling with M2P staff
- Job search workshops: group training in resume preparation, interviewing techniques and job search strategies
- Technical and soft skills training: occupation-specific field trips and seminars in industry trends, legislation, regulations, standards, software (as applicable), introduction to project management, business writing and other topics.
- Workplace culture and communication training
- 24 hour mentoring relationship with a professional in their field
- Work placement to gain relevant Canadian work experience
This is a unique program designed to empower participants with increased understanding of and exposure to the environmental industry and experts in the field with the goal of finding employment in a highly specialized and competitive sector.

Participants will have an opportunity to:
- Gain knowledge of Ontario-specific legislation, regulations, terminology, technical standards, and general practices
- Receive technical training and participate in field experiences as applicable
- Access networking opportunities through mentoring and other program components
- Improve language skills and enhance understanding of Canadian workplace culture
- Gain local experience through field, volunteer, and work placements

The M2P program will run from Spring 2012 to Fall 2013 and is a long term program including multiple components. Participants are expected to take an active role in ensuring their success in the program and reaching their goals.
