A celebration of everything wood! Various trades and tools will be highlighted throughout the Village. The Ontario Wood Carvers Association will be demonstrating and exhibiting their carvings. There will be lots of fun activities for kids and families, including horse-drawn wagon rides up to the north property.


Ontario Wood Carvers Association
Watch the OWCA demonstrate a variety of methods of wood carving.  Visitors can view numerous pieces on exhibit.

Horse Drawn Wagon Rides *
Take a ride to the Schmidt-Dalziel Centry Farm to see the oldest and most spectacular barn in Ontario.

Traditional Log Hewing
Watch the traditional art of log hewing demonstrated by John Forman.

The Art of Coopering
Our cooper will be demonstrating how barrels were made in the 1860s.

Forestry Nuts!
Join Gaspar Horvath from the Black Creek Project and Ken Willis, our Head Gardener, to learn about our trees and plants.

Black Creek Historic Brewery Tour *
Meet the brew master, try some samples and enjoy a lively tour through the brewery and mill. (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic samples available).


Hands on History Centre
Enjoy exploring a room full of hands-on "pioneer" activities such as building a log cabin, dressing up in pioneer clothes, and weaving on a life sized weaving wall.

Spinning Top Craft
Make your very own wooden spinning top to take home.

Soap Carving
Learn simple carving techniques with soap.

Forest Fun! Discovery Hunt
Explore the Village and try to find all the items.

Victorian Games
Try out a variety of games and toys including stilts, graces, ball & cup, and more.

Pioneer Puzzle Path
Enjoy Wood themed puzzles and challenges along the Mill Pond trail.


Enjoy a sit down meal of local, gourmet foods at Black Creek Historic Brewery Restaurant and Pub.
Get a burger, fries, hotdog, ice cream and more at the Event Pavilion BBQ.

Members Price: Free *
Non-members Price: $15 adults; $11 children (ages 5 to 15); $14 seniors and students; children 4 years and under are free.  Parking is $6.00. * $2/person charge for guided wagon ride. $4/person charge for Brewery Tour with samples.
